Screw spammers... hang them dead.

I use MT Blacklist for killing comment spam. Thanks Jay! I couldn't be online without it. But once in a while, my comments get nailed by jerks; when that happens it's usually because I haven't updated my list.

So I wake up this morning, and found one particular jerk spammed me 69 times last night. Not what i was hoping to wake up to. Karmically, he'll get what he deserves; fittingly, this spammer has a static IP. *grin*

:hanged

Also, and some as&h%!# has been using my email addy to send spam, most of them containing viruses. Anyone know how to battle that?

I started a thing! How cool is that? :) I blogged about the avatar creator, and y'all took it and ran with it. (I'm sure it's not because it's such a cool toy. It's only because I linked to it...... [Read More]

argh! i've been lucky as far as comment spam goes (crosses fingers)... i also have comments closed out on posts after 21 days (maybe its 14?)... that seems to shut some of them out as they tend to hit older entries.

i too am a victim of domain stealing... i am constantly getting emails from company's firewalls etc. about non-deliverable emails and viruses... all from an email addy that doesn't exist! i get paranoid that my friends will get something like that and think it really is me and then start hating me more than they probably already do! =)

Only thing I have that might help on a hijacked email is to change the password to something long and messy, write it down on paper somewhere, then change it every couple days for a while. They seem to get tired of having to crack the account constantly, and if the passwords are annoying enough may serve to keep them out altogether.

This does assume the account doesn't have a security flaw, or your computer a virus of some sort that's feeding them information. Those are good things to check up on, as well.
