Can't wait till work is over

Today is second to last day at the gym (hadn’t mentioned I put in my two weeks notice, did I?), on a regular schedule anyway. I've been added to the sub list, and will then only cover on occasion, when I'm needed, and if I'm available, of course. I'll miss working with all the babies and kids, but I'm moving on to so many more exciting things. ;o) It will be a more fruitful use of my time, with more time left for family. That's what it's all about.

I'm upset, royally pissed off, really, at the fact that I didn't get coverage for tonight, being such an important day for my children, when my youngest daughter gets to meet her Kindergarten teacher for the first time. How am I NOT to be at this special moment in her life? And say what, "Sorry, sweetie, I have to go to work". I don't think so. I have to be with you, my little princess, on the day where you start off a new journey in your life, so that when you and I grow older in years, we can both remember how we were together, on all the moments that mattered. I'll be in my daughter’s life always.

They've been notified. Today, work will have to wait for me.

Your daughter is starting kindergarten this year too? Oh wow! I didn't know that! Now we both have little girls in kindergarten. Let me know how she likes it. Ellie seems to be enjoying hers so far. 1st week down! :)

Family is more important than anything. I know how hard it is when work seems to screw with that. I'm pretty lucky in that I have a boss that understand when I need time off from work for my family and allows me to make up that time in whatever manner I can, even if it is working from home. Of course your situation sounds much different than mine. Doesn't sound like a job you can work from home. Ever thought about doing home daycare? Even if you only offered before and after school care for children, it would give you money and allow you to be with your children. Just a thought.

Mikey starts (pre-school, kindergarten, whatever it is for a 3 year old) Monday so we went to meet his teacher this past Thursday night. She seems very nice.

My youngest niece starts kindergarten today. I hate all those cliches about time flying, but wow. :)
