Panic.
That's almost what it feels like out there. Just got back from purchasing panels. They were sold out at the first 3 places we went to (i.e. Lowes, Home Depot). I'm not exagerating when I say everyone is out there, purchasing supplies and getting ready to board up their doors and windows.
Doesn't seem to be as much about the hurricane and how massive it is, but about the debris that will be sling-shot and rocketed when the winds start gusting.
Category 4 with sustained winds of 140 MPH, and gusting much stronger than that.

i had to laugh at my sister this morning as she's trying to get TO FLORIDA, and i told her most people are trying to get the heck out of there. they are flying out tonight and will be heading off to get a boat to secure land and hopefully away from major damage.
living on the gulf coast, i've seen my fair share of hurricanes and tropical storms - and i'm watching this one like a hawk.
my thoughts are with you guys - and as before, consider me a contact here in texas. and make sure you guys go to the liquor store to stock up! ;-)
hugs
