Like my good friend advised, an hour at a time. Feelings and thoughts come flooding through every now and then, and that's OK. As I've already shared with some of you, I won't have my results until the end of June, so I don't see why I should live my days worried till then. Seeing how school will be out for next week, I've got lots of time with my kids to look forward to, as well as a family vacation June 9th. We'll be going to Punta Cana, DR. So, I'm concentrating my thoughts on all this good stuff, while still acknowledging my fears and worries -just not letting them get the best of me.
With that said, here are some of the things I'm planning to do this summer, besides the mentioned vacation, of course. I'm planning on reading 2 books per month (which was part of my resolutions for this year anyway), and while I AM reading, I'm not finishing ALL my reads. I was reading Moll Flanders, which I hoped to finish before the end of April, and I'm still not done. Began reading Pride and Prejudice and just can't bring myself to even look at the book from afar. Ugh. I might very well give up on it. I have 3 books I read with my kids, which I actually enjoy not rushing through.
There are also two classics up on my list which I can't wait to dive into, The Awakening by Kate Chopin, and The Woman in White by Wilke Collins. I'm still not sure which book(s) I'll be taking with me on our vacation. And I best not forget my knitting books. Yes, I have several already, and they are a real joy to read and look over such beautiful images.
I'm brushing up on The Da Vinci Code (Illustrated version) before I go watch the movie (taking a cue from my friend Man About Town). And oh, movies! I can't wait to see X-Men 3, Over the Hedge, Hoot, Poseidon, Superman Returns, and a couple other flicks. ;)
Now that I've shared a few of my plans, it's your turn. What are your plans for summer? What books will you be reading? Will you be taking any trips?

I don't understand why you can't get your results sooner than the end of June. That's awful to have to wait that long.
i'm keeping you in my thoughts, zee... even if i did just spend a week in Orlando and forget to get in touch with you (doh!)
this summer i'm hoping to catch up on my gardening books - herbs and perrenials here i come! other than that no big plans... maybe shipping some of this rain we're getting down to you (10 inches in 3 days).
Mamita, I know that you will be just fine. Make sure you invite me to see all those movies with you, I will buy the popcorn, soda and of course chocolate cover raisins. I love you and may our Heavenly Father bless you always.
know that you do not 'wait' alone. prayers ascending...
summer! ah, the time for frolics and relaxation!!
Hmmmm. I'll be working that's for sure. I don't know what else I might be up to. :)
Don't worry about anything you don't have absolute control over, that's the way I live my life.
I'd better get reading if I'm going to get through Da Vinci Code again before seeing the movie. It's been so long since I read it the first time...
I haven't read a book in eons! The only thing I have an attention span for is catalogs!
Thanx for stopping and the comments. I enjoyed you're site - I'll get you blogrolled. BTW, great layout!
I recently read 'The Secret Lives of Bees' by Sue Monk Kidd. I really enjoyed it and make easy reading...
Here in Australia we are heading into winter, but now since I recently moved to the tropics in Far North Queensland, well...everyday is like summer holidays!
Thinking of you Zee. Good thoughts are coming your way! :)
My plans? Hanging out with my girls. I will also be taking a brief class in the middle of July.
Sorry to hear about the lumps. I hope they are nothing. My Mom had benign lumps at our age.
I teach THE AWAKENING in my literature class. Let me know how you like it.
Yay Punta Cana! That's where I was married.
This summer I want to use our vacation time for a camping trip, but they're a lot of work to set up a mini household for an extended period of time, so I guess we'll see how motivated I am come August!
Wishing you a very good day Z...How come so long for the results? That is a very long time to be left wondering. I am sorry that you are being put through this.
I hope you have a very good and relaxing holiday. A word to the wise though, Im assuming DR is Dominican Republic, be VERY careful what you eat and drink while there, I personally know of several people who went there, stayed at good hotels and came back very sick...it would never be my choice of vacation destinations, too much sadness and strife right next door in Haiti and so many problems with illness it seems. Don't mean to rain on your parade, just be careful ok, you don't need more problems and the risks are real when visiting DR. Ive witnessed it many, many times. One person I know almost died from complications.
Take care, Huggs, G
I have been out and about but I've also been reading like crazy. Hammett novels are so short, ya know? So I've gone through about 7 books so far this month.
Sending you good vibes about the results. Thinking about you. :)
*sends you good vibes*
Always feel free to give me a jingle if you need anything!
Thanks for stopping by and the comments. I've got you blogrolled!
I'm sorry to hear about your test results. I'll be sending positive thoughts your way for peace and strength while you await more news.
One of my favorite books along your current line is Middlemarch. Very long, but I hated for it to end.
Reading your earlier post has convinced me to read Life of Pi. A coworker raves about it, but I wasn't convinced because I thought his tastes were just different from mine. Now I'll give it a go.
We both certainly need to catch up with each other.
