Bookworm

Yeah, that would be me.

It's also one of the reasons why I've vanished from the internet for more than a week.

AutoCAD. I'm teaching myself AutoCAD. I've installed the program, done my homework, and WOW, this program is a simply different kind of animal. Just WOW.

I've already worked on and finished my first project, which was very interesting. I was pleasantly pleased with my confidence in working with the program and applying what I've learned so far. And to work on a paid project, no less! Bonus! This definitely is a big career change.

So it's official - I now have a paying job as I continue to train myself, working from home with my lobster. Sweet! Now if I could just figure out what my working rate is going to be... ;)

Still need to check a ton of email, then I'm off to hit the books, and then to unwind knitting.

Wow, that sounds great Zee! Can't wait to hear about the books you've been reading. :) I tried to comment on Kiki's blog a few times last week and it wouldn't accept my comment. :( Off to try again!

Congrats, enjoy! It's amazing how intuitive software can be, isn't it?

eek! (i also used to develop for it, in autolisp, ha) - acad it is the gorilla in the cad world... altho there are alot of fun little cad programs, none really compete.
goodluck!

My dad taught me how to use Autocad (and Generic before that) when I was younger. He's been a draughtsman for years. Never had a reason to use it tho... ;)

The whole thing sounds enviable.

I know it's been awhile so I've been out of the loop. Good luck on your new venture!

You're not posting nearly enough! :)

You can remove the Man About Town graphic and link now, he is no longer among us. RIP

It's been ages since I last used Autocad...definitely many versions ago. Now if you find yourself redesign your living room using it, you'll have to post your various layouts for us to vote on. ;)

hmmm. Might have to look into this. I am going to have to get a job one of these days, after all. :)

Congrats on the job stuff! I came by to see how you're doing. Things are good I take it :)

So, madam bookworm, have you books to suggest? Especially books that would be helpful along this path of furthering the education that you have been on? :)

Posted by: Keri | August 15, 2006 4:45 PM

oOOOOoOOOO. I heart AutoCAD. I've been a draftperson for fifteen (wow) years and love it! Good luck!

I have an *unhealthy* obsession with books. It's out of control. I am reading about CSS Stylesheets ;)
